Idli podi

Red chillies – 10-15 nos.
Urad dal – 1 cup
Rice – ½ cup
Toor dal – ¼ cup
Black pepper – 4-5 nos.
Oil – 1 tsp.
Curry leaves – a handful
Salt to taste


 Roast the red chillies and curry leaves in oil. After that, roast the urad dal, rice and toor dal separately in the same pan until each turn slightly brown.

 First grind the red chillies and the curry leaves to a very coarse mixture using the mixer/food processor. Add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor and grind to a slightly more smooth powder.
